As a left-handed golfer I recognize the challenge of finding suitable golf equipment. In addition to most tools, fishing reels, and golf clubs being designed for the right-handed world, its difficult to locate the product that you want. We live in a world that accommodates the right-handed buy at the expense of left handed people. Not that I’m bitter, and I understand the financial argument. So, as a lefty I have become quite accustomed to living on a right handed planet.
As a left handed golfer, it is often difficult to find the perfect golf irons or left-handed drivers. Depending on where you live and your access to well-stocked golf stores or course pro shops, you may have to order your equipment through a website, or on Ebay. In fact, even some of the larger sporting goods store carry only a very limited supply of left handed irons left handed drivers. Even finding a left-handed golf glove in your size can be a challenge.
Since most of us have a hand that we naturally favor, left handed golfers must adapt. I am always aware of left-handed golfers at the driving range and golf course, and notice a lot of the same tendencies. We slice the golf ball way left. Being aware of these tendencies in the beginning, as a left-handed golfer you can learn to compensate.
Once you have determined that you want to learn how to golf using your left-hand, you should buy left-handed golf clubs that you really want, and not just a set because they are the only ones that the local store has in stock. Every manufacturer makes left handed golf clubs and you should get the set of your choice.
Lately, things have clearly gotten better, and it is easier to get your hands on left handed irons and left handed drivers. There are several internet website that selectively provide top quality left-handed irons, left-handed drivers, left-handed putters, and left-handed golf gloves. These professional websites fill your order as fast as the same day or within a few days so you can jump in feet first. Many of these websites offer low prices and you can save a lot of money.
Becoming a good left-handed golfer is very similar to golfing right-handed. You must practice at least one or more times every week in order to show improvement. You will have to learn how to drive the ball straight, pitch and chip, and how to putt. Remember that it is the work you put into your practice sessions that will make the difference in your game, and not which hand you use to hit the golf ball.
Some smart advice that I heard early on was to find a left-handed golf pro to work with. This proved difficult at first and like most learners, I learned from a right-handed golf pro. Later on though I got swing refinement from a left-handed golf pro and this improved my game considerably. My left handed golf instructor was able to illustrate more about my swing from a left handed golfer’s perspective.
There are currently more left handed people in the world than ever. With the population increases, the number of left handed people has also risen. Some say that the number of people who primarily use their left hand is on a steady rise. With the left handle population growing so rapidly, it will start to make sense for manufacturers of golf equipment to begin rolling out more irons, drivers, putters, and gloves for us.
