Renting one of the many Irish holiday homes that are now available will provide you with the chance to explore this beautiful island at your own pace. However, if you have never actually rented such accommodation before when on vacation below we offer some tips to ensure that you have a great time.

Tip 1 - Many of the homes for rent are privately owned and so how well they are maintained will vary from one to the next. If you want to ensure that you get the best accommodation possible, arrange your booking through those agencies who only expect the best from their homeowners.

Tip 2 - Unlike hotels, when renting a holiday home the dates from which you can rent it are usually Saturday-to-Saturday. Although some may offer other arrangements there are very few that do. Also, you will find that you cannot actually get the keys for the property until about mid afternoon on the day of your arrival, as the owners or the agents will need time to make sure that the property is ready for your visit.

Tip 3 - Often the price at which you rent such homes is not based on the size or what state the property is in. In most cases, the rental prices are based on where the property is located and at what time of year you are actually renting it. Sometimes you may often find that you get a better deal and higher quality accommodation if you choose to stay in a less popular location.

Tip 4 - If you have found your ideal holiday home and would like to make sure that you get it for the dates you want it is a good idea to book it well in advance. You may find that not only do you get exactly what you want but you could also end up saving some money as well. However, if you do choose this method of getting your ideal holiday home you may be required to pay a small deposit (around 10%) to ensure that the accommodation is held for you.

Tip 5 - It is important that you know exactly what is included in the price for renting the property before you make your booking. Most rental agreement prices cover all amenities such as heating, electricity and bed linen plus other items that one would expect in a home. However, you may discover that if you want to say bring your pet on holiday with you then a further fee will be charged for doing so.

Tip 6 - If you would like to save money on your accommodation there are somethings that you can do. You can either choose to go at a time of year when far less people are likely to be visiting the area, say the winter and spring months. The other choice you have because you need to go during high season is book accommodation in an area, which is less popular with tourists.

Above we have offered you a few tips that should help you to get not only the right Irish holiday homes for your next vacation. But you may also find yourself actually saving yourself some money as well. However, you need to be wary and carry out as much research before you actually make that booking.
