The Rottweiler is a German breed that is best described as a working breed that was at first used as a guard dog and also a cattle driver, and its use goes back to ancient times. There are other names given to this affectionate breed including being called Rotty and Rott. The Rottweiler is large in size and very strong and because of its independent nature and domineering personality, it sometimes becomes unmanageable and thus contributes to a number of Rottweiler problem behaviors.

If you want an affectionate, warm and gentle dog, then Labrador Retriever puppies are the right ones for you. Labrador’s are the most popular breed of dogs. They are called the gun type dogs because of the fact that they were originally bred to assist hunters, thus the name Labrador Retriever.

Most Labradors are not prone to the common problems that most breeds have. Labrador’s are not insecure or whinny, their not territorial or destructive, and they are also not hypersensitive or difficult. They will not be difficult to train because they are eager learners and love to please people. The other great thing is that if you have other pets, Labradors are very patient with other animals as well as other breed of dogs.

The Shar Pei is an intelligent and playful breed that can also be headstrong at times with a stubborn streak. It is important to use persistence when training a Shar Pei pup since they are dominant and will run your house if you let them. By starting training early and being persistent you can establish yourself as the head of household.

However, in order to give your Shar Pei pup a long, healthy and happy life you need to take care of them. First to do this you need to make sure you get your Shar Pei pup vaccinated when you first get them and then get their booster shots on the exact schedule that your veterinarian recommends in order to keep up their immunity against diseases.

Perhaps the most important aspect for a dog’s health would be a unique blend of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to make sure the joints, organs, and digestive systems make work in harmony as well with the skin and coat being healthy. A great diet for your pet dog should remain a holistic approach as meals should consist of meat, vegetables, and whole grains. The important thing is to avoid processed foods.

Could that dog in the shelter be a Miniature Poodle? Recognizing a Poodle type dog is a lot more than just looking at what clip their coat is in. Most Miniature Poodles in shelters or breed rescues are not in the fancy show clips. But there are still ways to recognize a Miniature Poodle.

The Miniature Poodle is built just like the Standard Poodle, only on a smaller scale. They have the same temperament, needs and grooming requirements. There are some who think the Miniature Poodle is the most intelligent of the Poodle types, but there is really no way to prove this.

Golden Retriever History

by Carol Matthews

The Golden Retriever, a truly intelligent dog among all other breeds, is popular for its all-embracing services in the domains of field trials, obedience, hunting and providing true guidance and services to blind people. In the beginning of the 1800’s, people from old England and Scotland considered hunting as their game of interest at one hand, and a mode for collecting food on the other. The talent of the Golden Retriever was first noticed in the domain of hunting, since these dogs are of medium size and have the flexibility to scroll through fowling lands, including upland gaming zone and waterfowl.
