Originally bred in the mid-19th century Yorkshire, England to catch rats, the Yorkshire Terrier was first introduced to Americans in 1872. In 1878, it was one of the first breeds to be acknowledged by the American Kennel Club as eligible for registration. Since then, these cute little pups have warmed our hearts and our homes, earning a spot as the second most popular breed in the United States. Like all the Yorkshire Terrier types, the Teacup Yorkie is bright, energetic, and a favorite of dog lovers everywhere.

Could that dog in the shelter be a Miniature Poodle? Recognizing a Poodle type dog is a lot more than just looking at what clip their coat is in. Most Miniature Poodles in shelters or breed rescues are not in the fancy show clips. But there are still ways to recognize a Miniature Poodle.

The Miniature Poodle is built just like the Standard Poodle, only on a smaller scale. They have the same temperament, needs and grooming requirements. There are some who think the Miniature Poodle is the most intelligent of the Poodle types, but there is really no way to prove this.

Golden Retriever History

by Carol Matthews

The Golden Retriever, a truly intelligent dog among all other breeds, is popular for its all-embracing services in the domains of field trials, obedience, hunting and providing true guidance and services to blind people. In the beginning of the 1800’s, people from old England and Scotland considered hunting as their game of interest at one hand, and a mode for collecting food on the other. The talent of the Golden Retriever was first noticed in the domain of hunting, since these dogs are of medium size and have the flexibility to scroll through fowling lands, including upland gaming zone and waterfowl.

There is really one distinct variation between the black Pomeranian and the regular Pomeranian and that is the black Pomeranian is black. The black Pomeranian is a very sturdy little dog whose legs are in direct proportion to its body. This is by no means a wimpy little dog. It has a medium size bone structure and is strong and staunch. The outercoat of the black Pomeranian is short and coarse and the undercoat is long and coarse which pushes the outercoat to stand up straight.

One of the most obedient and intelligent dogs, Golden Retriever dogs are famous for offering their services in a wide variety of domains including hunting, field trials and conferring guidance and companionship to blind masters. In the early decades of the 1800’s, hunting was popular among natives of England and Scotland. During that time, hunting was considered both as a way to gather foods and a mode of entertainment. With their flexibility and a medium-size, the Golden Retriever has the ability to move through the wild-fowling, both upland and waterfowl, in a smooth fashion.

Most people do not realize that there are two types of Rottweilers. This is because there is very little difference between the two. The two types of Rottweilers are the American Rottweiler and the German Rottweiler. The German Rottweiler is shorter, stockier and more muscular than the American Rottweiler.

The American Rottweiler is taller and thinner through the face and body. Both the American Rottweiler and the German Rottweiler are black with distinct tan markings over both eyes, cheeks, muzzle and chest. Both have coats that are medium length, coarse and straight and both have a double undercoat.

Today, family dogs are fatter and more unhealthy than just a decade or two ago. This is mostly attributed to being less active and eating less healthy diets. Many people feed their dogs special diets after they determine what foods their dogs need to eat, both for regular meals and for special treats. Such dog information allows them to be sure that they are feeding their dogs properly.

Some companies, such as flint river ranch dog food, make human grade dog food, which means a person can eat it without becoming ill. Alternatively, you can make your own dog food at home. Some dog owners have started their pets on diets that are tailored to meet their pet’s special dietary needs.
