Well, Amy Winehouse was born on September 14th, 1983 with an incredible talent that would one day see her doing the things she loved the most. Besides all the news about her career and private life, here are some facts about the London born girl for you.

Born in Southgate, London, into a Jewish family of Jazz musicians it’s easy to see where Amy Winehouse gained all of her early inspiration. When she was Ten years old she wss in a rap band caled Sweet n Sour, and then later went on to attend a theatre school, but unfortunately she ended up in trouble while she was there - even having her nose pierced. Later, in 1997, she appeared on an episode of “The fast Show” on tv.

Amy received a guitar at the age of Thirteen, which she fell in love with and it soon transformed her life. However, with it, she also gave up school a year later and landed in hot water for trying drugs. She did go on though to achieve success with the release of her first album Frank in 2003 and gaining an Ivor Novello Music award for one of her songs, in 2004.

Unfortunately Amy grew tired of the album after the record producers included some songs she disliked.

Later on Amy took a twist to the future by trying out a new angle - an emphasis on the girls and women of the 1950’s and the 1960’s - with her hairdo to match!

After 18 months of nothing, Amy Winehouse got inspired after meeting Mark Ronson, and promptly wrote her second album, in just 6 months!

Since then Amy has gone from strength to strength, but has gained an unwanted reputation for her recent drug problems in 2007/2008.

Amy’s sales went up and up until she hit 5x platinum, but at the same time she continued to have drug probems, and videos of her taking Cocaine were found online.

Amy has got what it takes to be a household name and a top class legend - if she can learn to control the drugs that is.
