Norwich – Norfolk was first established by the Romans and Anglo Saxon and has been in existence since then. This town keeps the history from this and the other periods alive in their architecture and arts.

Norwich boasts the largest open air market that is in England today. Its history dates back to the 1070s Norman settlements. This market has been in use since that time. The city also has upscale malls and even one is built into the side of a hill with a park on its roof.

The Norfolk and Norwich music festival is an international arts festival held every May for sixteen days. This was founded in 1772 to promote classical music and art from the area. Today and also is home for many circus acts, dance and theater groups as well as the music it has become known for.

The gardens at Norfolk are very diverse. Plantation Gardens is a restored Victorian garden that was created at the end of the nineteenth century. This hidden gem is tucked away in the busy city center. The Animal Ark is a great family destination that has playgrounds many animals and insect life for view. You can take a picnic or eat at the cafe on the premise and stay all day.

The nightlife here is action packed and can be good for a bit of excitement. The bars on Tombland use historical buildings to give it a truly unique ambiance. You can also find stand up comedy and trendy nightclubs. All the offerings give this a truly diverse and thrilling after hours entertainment.

The history is rich in this area, and Norwich Castle is one of the best known landmarks in England. In use since 1067, this is an old Norman royal palace that can now be toured and its museum visited. The Norwich Cathedral was completed in 1101, and this serene place has the characteristic of being the only Saxon throne still in its original position.

The largest protected wetland in England is the Norfolk Broads, which has many wildlife and bird sanctuaries, making this a favor location for birdwatchers. The waterways can be traveled or you can choose to afford on foot or on a bicycle. You can also take a rail tour of the area.

Norwich – Norfolk offers an assorted amount of attractions for you to enjoy in the area that encompasses many interests. This history rich town manages to meld the old and the new in a delightful way that makes this destination truly amazing.
