It actually takes a little bit of work to get on the list of participants for the show Survivor. First of all, the show announces that it is accepting applications that can be requested through the website and they usually request a photo and a three minute video be mailed in that introduces you to the producers. If they like you, they will call you in for a Hollywood interview, but don’t expect them to pay your travel expenses. That comes later if you make it to the semi-finals.

We’ve all had friends in our circle who were known as “Mary & John”, and when “John” split “Mary” was alone. Mary was the “odd” number at the dinner party and we were all concerned about her. Well, today it seems that the union of Customer & Service have had a breakup. Service has split and Customer is on his/her own.

Today, let me tell you a story that many of you will find humorous but is all too common. I can tell you this without fear of our local editor getting sued because it’s about me, but business owners take note that you don’t fit the profile of company “X”.

The pressure on today’s children to succeed in school is phenomenal. Not only is the pressure on children, but it is on staff and administrators as well. Sometimes, the in-school environment can degenerate because of tension and pressure that makes the learning experience painful. Gone are the days of long recesses on inviting days and long lunch hours with time to chat with friends. Kids are moved quickly from one activity or subject to another, trying to stuff into the students’ heads enough information to see them through the critical year end tests.
